huffing and puffing

Anyone remember when Haiti suffered its disaster how Americans tut-tutted how inadequate their construction techniques and building codes were compared to ours?  If I were the big bad wolf looking for a tasty pig I’d skip Haiti’s concrete houses and head straight to the American south – or really almost anywhere in America – and start huffing and puffing. And blow those houses made out of sticks and paper right down.

I wonder how many lives would have been saved in this present disaster in the American south if we hadn’t handed over – lock, stock and barrel – responsibility for our housing development to lousy speculators?
