Using data, engines and new media to provide a new tool for navigating our built environment.

OBJECTIVE

To understand the relationship between development patterns, energy use and government spending.

To establish expertise for the University in the area of consumption patterns as they relate to the built environment.

To make a simple machine that uses social media to allow an individual to place himself into a meaningful virtual geospatial context that shows that person’s relationship to his local social / economic / built environment.

Objective:  To build Quality of Life Indicator ENGINE with four parts:  1. data identification and collection (THE WORLD) 2. data organization (INTERPRETATION OF THE WORLD), 3. social media interface (MY PLACE IN THE WORLD)

-limit scope by studying two or three zip codes that give a representative sampling: Manhattan, Cherry Hill
